Home & Business Conveyancing

At Home and Business Conveyancing we believe it is ever more important for conveyancers to protect the legal interests of their clients. The Law is a lot more complex than it was 10 years ago and it is continually changing.

Our philosophy is to help clients acquire knowledge about the contracts they are about to sign and ultimately safeguard those who are in situations where they are vulnerable.

Our clients are partners, and we work closely with them whether they are individuals or a company to make the process easier by bringing clarity and efficiency to the process.

Professional Conveyancing Services

Our Adelaide based business provides some of the following conveyancing services: House, Unit and Land Transfers, Matrimonial and Family Transfers, Preparation of Vendor's Disclosure Statements (also known as Form 1), Private Contracts, Business Settlements, Land and Community Divisions, Applications to Note Change of Name, Register Death or Marriage, Transmission Applications & Lost Title Applications

What does a Conveyancer do?

Conveyancing involves transferring interests in land and property.  On a basic file, such tasks include:

  • consideration of the Contract of Sale
  • searching the Title to the land to ensure it's in correct order for transfer
  • making enquiries to statutory authorities
  • advising a purchaser on any outstanding charges on the property, restrictions on use, or encumbrances on the title
  • advising on obligations when buying a strata or community title, and whether to hold property as joint tenants or tenants in common
  • preparing transfer, mortgage, assignment of lease
  • liaising with banks to discharge mortgage liabilities if selling
  • preparing settlement statements, apportioning rates and taxes
  • attending settlement
  • lodging documents for payment of stamp duty and registration
  • advising when settlement is completed, and notifying statutory authorities of change of ownership.
